VHNYC

Jaime-Jin Lewis (she/her) doesn’t believe childcare should be a sink-or-swim issue for working parents, which is why she founded Wiggle Room. Wiggle Room innovates tools for a durable and dynamic early care system, centering communities of color. In 2020, Jaime-Jin stood up #WorkersNeedChildcare, NYC’s only childcare hotline for essential workers, as well as #CareTogetherNYC, a mutual aid project entirely dedicated to helping essential workers pay for urgent childcare needs that moved over $153K in four months. Jaime-Jin is a #Care100 Most Influential Person in Care of 2020, a 2021 David Prize finalist, and an alumna of the Blue Ridge Labs, Catalyst Incubator, Camelback Ventures, Roddenberry, and The City Fellowship at Company Ventures. Prior to founding Wiggle Room, Jaime-Jin served as the Executive Director of The Center for Racial Justice in Education, the Director of Development at Caring Across Generations (a campaign of the National Domestic Workers Alliance and Jobs With Justice), and a Senior Strategist at Purpose PBC. Jaime-Jin is a left-handed, both-brained mover and shaker who was born in South Korea, grew up in Charlottesville, VA, spent extensive time in Buenos Aires, and currently resides in Brooklyn, NY.
