We are striving to be the go to mental healthcare solution for Africans everywhere. We endeavour to make access to mental healthcare as simple as brushing your teeth.

Melanie is the CEO and co-founder of Akoma Health, which improves access to mental healthcare in Africa. As an investor, Melanie is focussed on startups across the following verticals: creator economy, health and wellness, consumer tech and Web3, amongst others. Melanie is passionate about enabling others’ to fulfill their potential, thus working with founders to create and scale solutions to existing problems and be impactful in their communities.

Most recently, Melanie spent the summer at Bain creating lasting solutions for Entertainment clients, including a high-growth video gaming company and the largest global music label. Prior to this, Melanie was a Vice President level financial advisor, serving the needs of global family offices and ultra-high net worth individuals. This included, but was not limited to: private market investing, public market trading, and structuring of clients’ family investments. At Goldman, Melanie served as a member of the PWM Advisory Council that seeks to narrow the gender and ethnic investing gap. She worked with Goldman Sachs both in London and New York.

Melanie received her undergraduate degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of York in the UK. She also just completed her MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
