Sending money should be as easy as texting regardless of where you live or what you earn.

Rebecca Kersch is the Founder and CEO of TANG app. She is a 2020 MPA graduate from the Harvard Kennedy School, where she also received the Don K. Price award. Previously, Rebecca worked in strategy consulting, non-profit, the UN, and she is an industry advisor to the Oxford Saïd Business School. Her experience in business, the public sector, academic world, emerging markets, Europe and the US, but also her personal interest in helping Filipinos, are what led her to start TANGapp. With TANGapp, she and her team focus on improving the lives of Filipinos through financial inclusion. Rebecca has a close lived experience to the exorbitant fees that migrant workers pay to send money home and it is why she is building TANGapp: the international ‘Venmo’ for the 1.5 billion unbanked. For her work with TANG app, Rebecca won prizes in many start-up competitions at Harvard and in the Boston area. One prize included being a winner in the Harvard President’s Innovation Challenge. Rebecca is Dutch/Filipina/American and speaks four languages.
